Welp... I think these might be as final as I get. I tried to get more of a richer contrast in the image overall. Or basically... add more darks. So yeah. Who shall I do next... Ryan? Dwight? Angela? Toby? Michael Scott? We shall see who I'm inspired by :)
In other news... I'm in the process of foiling my office mate's side of the office. She's on vacation, so I decided to continue the tradition and foil her like I foiled Nick. MUAHAHAHA.

I'm not done yet, so there may be an update later with a more polished version. I'd like to get some more darks on her face as a whole. I dunno... Recent developments indicate I may have the slightest of chances of meeting her! And she is pretty much my fave so... as you can imagine I'm pretty stoked! Anyhoo... I should probably do some work here.
So this past weekend was one of my most favorite weekends of the year: COMIC CON!
I did well this year, paying more for parking than I did for anything I bought at the convention. Me and Kevin decided to venture down to San Diego for the day on Wednesday to check out preview night and enjoy some time puttering around San Diego. My thinking was... this would be a day where there wouldn't be many people there and we'd be able to walk freely and get what we wanted before the hoards of people got there. I was proven wrong when we returned to get inside. We had to wait a half an hour just waiting in a line for an escalator to get onto the floor. I had no idea there were so many professionals and 4 day pass holders. WOOH. It was almost as busy as Saturday. So we just walked isles and stopped by to see friends who had booths and such. My main goal for the buying side of the con was to get Pascal Campion's book... and I'm proud to say this was my only purchase! I had never met Pascal, but I've admired his work on various blogs and websites. What a nice guy! I have high hopes on attending the Totoro auction and (if my wallet allows) bidding on his piece. After that we pretty much headed out to drive back to L.A.
Saturday we woke up really early to get back to San Diego. We got there a little before it opened in hopes of getting a seat in the room for The Office panel. We got around like 12th row seats and sat through some talk about a cartoon called Ben 10. After that we hopped forward a few rows for the Sarah Connor Chronicles or whatever its called. And when that was over I was able to run forward and score us some seats about 4 rows back from exactly where Rainn Wilson would be emceeing. This is how they did their introductions: It was AWESOME!! That's all I can say. At the end of the panel the writers signed a few autographs and I got B.J. Novak to sign my Dwight poster!
After The Office panel we did another walk through of the floor and saw some more friends and then headed home.
So... I love The Office, and while I am being starved for new episodes I'm going to be doing some new paintings. I'll start off with Jim Halpert. Go easy on me... I didn't have any pressure sensitivity on the wacom I used.
I'm hoping to at least get a Pam painting done, I actually have a preliminary sketch for her, but who knows... maybe a good Dwight and of course Kelly Kapur. Who knows... it all depends on overtimes at work, boredom, and the need to actually be artistic.
Oh speaking of The Office... THE WRITERS AND RAINN WILSON WILL BE AT COMIC CON!!! I'm so there!
Tuesday March 18th I lost a friend and former coworker, Justin Wright. Justin was a story intern the same summer that I was an animation intern. All of my room mates were story interns so I spent a bit of time over in their room. After we got hired Justin was the first former intern to start so I would go up and see what he was up to and we would geek out about how cool our dreams jobs were. I kept that up usually going up to chat once a week or so to see what he was working on and he'd show me how things worked up there since I had a big interest in story. He spent an hour once showing me how their software worked and showing me how he was doing his stuff for WALL.E. And every so often he'd accompany me and Valerie to Starbucks as the coffee at work was not up to our likings. I just can't believe that I'll never get to run up those stairs and check out what he's working on again...
So here they are. The three main character's in Bolt. I promise the dog and hamster don't really have levitation powers... and the cat is not wet... nor does her fur still look like that. And... the movie has some really cool action scenes... they're not just walking to L.A. :)
